What is it?
This is my winning entry for
Megaworld’s #LoveVenice
The Mona Lisa Exhibition 2020. It is a digital painting hand-made in Procreate.
Why is it?
The exhibit meant to highlight one of the most famous paintings in the world, the Mona Lisa. Contestants were tasked to flex their creativity and create their own digital rendition.
Why did you draw her this way?
I wanted to emphasize on Mona Lisa's smile. Her mystery behind it and how we will never know who she actually is. Because of this, I wanted to portray her in both pleasure and pain. Sinner and saint. Both familiar and other-worldly. Empty yet at the same time, complete.
